Quick and to the point, this Antebellum trailer doesn’t reveal much, choosing to focus on the ominous tone and tense mood rather than doling out plot details. Cryptic and moody, we’re not entirely sure what’s in store, but damn if we’re not 100% on board.
There’s not a ton of information about the movie known, which is probably for the best. Let us discover for ourselves. Here’s a brief, vague, not-all-that-informative synopsis that mostly touts the key creative people involved:
Successful author Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe) finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late. ANTEBELLUM is a terrifying new thriller from the producer of the acclaimed films GET OUT and US, and groundbreaking directors Gerard Bush and Christoper Renz (Bush+Renz)—an exciting new voice in filmmaking.
In addition to Monáe, Antebellum stars Marque Richardson II, Eric Lange, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, Tongayi Chirisa, Gabourey Sidibe, Rob Aramayo, Lily Cowles, and Jena Malone.
The film opens April 24.
