'Spider-Man: Far From Home' Trailer: The Wall Crawler Goes On Vacation

If you haven’t watched Avengers: Endgame yet, don’t watch this Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, there are big, movie-ruining spoilers, like right out of the gate. But don’t worry, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland, will also warn you. And wow, it’s been a busy weekend and I just looked at the box office numbers and, you know what, with a $2+ billion haul, there probably aren’t many of you who haven’t seen Endgame. Damn. Anyway, check out the trailer below.

Are we really going to do this? Are we really going to pretend Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) isn’t a villain? Okay, cool, I guess I can play along and pretend to be shocked when he takes the heel turn and people realize the guy who talks about the need for “sacrifice,” other people’s sacrifices of course, may not be super awesome.

Also, recently, Kevin Feige said that Spider-Man: Far From Home, not Avengers: Endgame, is the true finale of the latest phase of the MCU. From what we see here, it appears that Spidey’s latest jaunt will provide answers to at least a few lingering logistical questions after Thanos dusted half the world, so that’ll please fans who like to nitpick that sort of detail.

It also looks to address, or at least start to address what’s probably my biggest curiosity: what comes next? Endgame is so big and so massive and wraps up so many stories that after the credit rolled, I couldn’t help but wonder where the MCU goes from here. I mean this in both a practical, plot sense as well as in scope and scale.

Marvel has obvious options in their decades of back-catalog stories, and bringing the multiverse into play is certainly one path. We’ll see how things play out in this forever-changed world.

Spider-Man: Far From Home opens everywhere July 2, just in time for America’s birthday.
