'Triple Threat' Trailer: Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Scott Adkins, And Everyone Else Are Here To Fight

Happy Valentine’s Day! While some choose to celebrate this holiday with candy, candlelight, and other romantic markers, I prefer the way the good folks behind Triple Threat like to party, with face kicking, spinning elbows, flying knees, and general badass action mayhem. Yes, the full Triple Threat trailer promised a few days ago has arrived, and all I can say is, “Hell Yes!” to what is apparently “the killingest action event of the year.”

This trailer comes courtesy of  Den of Geek, and it does not disappoint. An epic action team up of this magnitude is certain to garner comparisons to the Expendables movies, but the old action dudes of yesteryear can’t hold Triple Threat’s jock. This is damn near every current cinematic martial arts badass, all in their primes, all beating the holy hell out of one another for my amusement, and bless them for that.

If you’re unware of what Triple Threat is, prepare to pee a little bit with excitement. It stars Tony Jaa (Ong Bak), Iko Uwais (The Raid), Tiger Hu Chen (Man of Tai Chi), Scott Adkins (Boyka: Undisputed), Michael Jai White (Blood and Bone), JeeJa Yanin (Chocolate), Celina Jade (Skin Trade), and Michael Bisping (former UFC champ, xXx: Return of Xander Cage).

Directed by stunt-coordinator-turned-VOD-action-maestro Jesse V. Johnson (Savage Dog), the plot is simple, but effective. “When a hit is taken out on a billionaire’s daughter, it’s mercenaries versus assassins in an all-out war.” That sounds like a fine delivery system for the kind of brutal, bone-snapping on screen action we see in this trailer. It’s just a taste, but what a damn flavor.

Triple Threat feels like it has been a long time coming. The first rumbling hit the airwaves in 2016, and the project went through numerous changes over time. But it’s almost here and that’s all that matters.

Well Go USA unleashes Triple Threat upon the world on March 22, with a Blu-ray release planned shortly after. Prepare yourselves.
