'Dig Two Graves' Trailer: Never Go Into A Tunnel In The Woods With A Hillbilly In A Top Hat

I don’t exactly know the deal with Dig Two Graves. A horror, fantasy, mystery, it’s about to get a day-and-date theatrical and VOD release in March. It’s also apparently been kicking around since 2014. I have a vague recollection of hearing the name floated, though there are almost no reviews or any other information available. But a new trailer actually looks pretty awesome—weird and creepy and gothic, not to mention a freaky backwoods moonshiner in a top hat. I’m in. Take a look for yourself.

I know trailers can be misleading, they are trying to sell a product after all, but this Dig Two Graves trailer had definite potential. What we see here is grim and unsettling and bleak. There’s like a hillbilly deal with the devil or something going on; we’ve got frantic, cultish religious rights that may or may not include snake handling; bodies being dumped in a quarry; revenge; and all manner of ominous, occult-looking stuff. Yeah, I’m way down with this.

Here’s the official Dig Two Graves synopsis:

A supernatural thriller about the generational violence that plagues a small, backwoods town, set in the 1970s, DIG TWO GRAVES asks “how far would you go to save those you love?” After 13-year-old Jacqueline Mather (Samantha Isler) loses her brother in a mysterious drowning accident she is soon visited by 3 moonshiners who offer to bring her brother back to life but at a grim cost. As the dark history of her grandfather, Sheriff Waterhouse (Ted Levine) is unearthed the true intentions of the moonshiners come to light.    

While the above trailer is new, here’s a clip from a couple years ago. Never go into the tunnel with the creepy dude in the top hat or his weird brothers. That should be day-one parenting.

Written and directed by Hunter Adams, Dig Two Graves hits theaters—though I imagine not very many—and video on demand platforms on March 24. I’m curious to see what this is all about.
