All South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho does is kick out the
jams, cinematically speaking that is. And you better believe the idea of
The Host director telling the tender story about a young
girl and her best friend, a giant genetically altered pig monster, has my full
and undivided attention. Netflix just dropped the first trailer for
Okja.

This Is The Best 'Kong: Skull Island' Trailer Yet
So, the Oscars happened last night and for once my favorite movie of the year (Moonlight) won, despite the kerfuffle at the end. I don’t think that’s ever
happened. My preferred movies tend to have more explosions than Academy voters
seem to appreciate. But I’m getting off topic, I don’t care about the Oscars.
None of that matters because this morning we have a brand new Kong: Skull Island trailer and good lord I can’t wait for this movie.

Blu-Ray Review: 'Psychomania'
A vicious gang of bikers who kill themselves in order to return from the grave even more badass. What’s not to like about the plot of Don Sharp’s 1973 horror joint, Psychomania (also known as The Death Wheelers). Already a sleazy cult classic, Arrow Video just released a fantastic new special edition Blu-ray, which, if you have any inkling or proclivities towards this sort of fare, you should pick up.

'Get Out' (2017) Movie Review
Best known as one of the masterminds behind Key &
Peele—which, though I enjoy, I admittedly don’t adore like so many
folks (it has the same hit-and-miss issue as every other sketch comedy series,
even my all-time favorites, and though there are manic, brilliant highs, I
never found the whole particularly enthralling)—Jordan Peele apparently has a
whole other career ahead of him, should he choose: making awesome horror
movies.
Watch This Alien-Free 'Alien: Covenant' Prologue
Even if Prometheus left many folks cold
(I totally dig it, though it’s certainly a deeply flawed film), it’s difficult
not to get psyched about the idea of Ridley Scott making another movie set in
the Alien universe. So it makes sense many of us are
fiending hard for Alien: Covenant. We saw that brutal firsttrailer, and now 20th Century Fox released a short prologue film last night
during Legion (you should also be watching
Legion if you’re not). And here it is.

'Dig Two Graves' Trailer: Never Go Into A Tunnel In The Woods With A Hillbilly In A Top Hat
I don’t exactly know the deal with Dig Two
Graves. A horror, fantasy, mystery, it’s about to get a day-and-date
theatrical and VOD release in March. It’s also apparently been kicking around
since 2014. I have a vague recollection of hearing the name floated, though there
are almost no reviews or any other information available. But a new trailer
actually looks pretty awesome—weird and creepy and gothic, not to mention a
freaky backwoods moonshiner in a top hat. I’m in. Take a look for yourself.

'Alien: Covenant' Cast Photo: Meet The Delicious People The Xenomorphs Get To Devour
Oh man, I sure hope the Xenomorphs in Ridley Scott’s
upcoming Alien: Covenant are super hungry. The production
just released a photo of the whole case and it certainly looks like a smorgasbord—we’re
talking a Vegas-style, heartburn-inducing buffet of epic proportions. Check it
out after the jump.

'The Girl With All The Gifts' (2016) Movie Review
Melanie (Sennia Nanua) is eager to learn, polite to her
elders, helpful in all scenarios, and generally the kind of young girl every
parent hopes their daughter becomes. Oh, yeah, when she gets too close to
people she turns into a ravenous, flesh-hungry cannibal. So, there’s that.

Oops, Anne Hathaway Got Drunk And Picked Up A Giant Monster In This 'Colossal' Trailer
Don’t you hate it when you wake up from a night of hard
partying, hung over, vaguely smelly, and in control of a massive monster
wreaking havoc on the other side of the world? Oh wait, maybe that only happens
to Anne Hathaway in Nacho Vigalondo’s Colossal. I’d swear
that happened to me once, but it may just be this new trailer.
'Logan' (2017) Movie Review
It’s been 17 years since Hugh Jackman first strapped on the
bushy sideburns and adamantium claws as fan-favorite mutant Wolverine in X-Men.
Now, in 2017, with Logan—his (reportedly) final ride as the
grizzled, ornery, cigar-chomping comic book antihero—we get the movie I’ve been
waiting almost two decades for.

'The Devil's Candy' Trailer Is Full Of Heavy Metal, Creepiness, And Satan
It’s been a long time coming, but Sean Byrne’s follow-up to
The Loved Ones is almost here. That movie hit in 2009, but
it’s also been two years since his latest, The Devil’s Candy,
debuted. For those of us who didn’t catch it on the festival circuit in 2015,
we finally get our chance next month, and to celebrate, IFC dropped a new
trailer full of Satan and creepiness.

'The Raid' Remake Is Apparently Back On With Joe Carnahan And Frank Grillo
Gareth Evans’ bananas 2011 Indonesian film, The
Raid, is one of the greatest modern action movies. Grim, gritty, and
brutal, it introduced the world-at-large to the prodigious talents of Iko Uwais
and marked it’s helmer as a true auteur of bone-breaking violence. And because
it’s subtitled, an American remake has kicked around ever since. A remake of
The Raid has been an on-again-off-again proposition, but it’s
apparently very much on again.
'The Blackcoat's Daughter' (2015) Movie Review
There are things that writer/director Oz Perkins’ (who acted
in one of my all-time favorites, Not Another Teen Movie,
and also happens to be the son of Psycho’s Anthony Perkins)
horror thriller, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, does well.
And other things it does not.

'The Bad Batch' Trailer: Post-Apocalyptic Wastelands, Cannibals, And Cult Leader Keanu Reeves
After A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, I’m
game for anything Ana Lily Amirpour does. And if that happens to be a visit to
a tense, moody, post-apocalyptic dystopia where Keanu Reeves goes deep-dive
mustachioed cult leader, even better. Check out the first trailer for
The Bad Batch below.

'John Wick: Chapter 2' (2017) Movie Review
As long as villains keep making the absolute worst choice
imaginable, messing with John Wick—seriously, never fuck with the guy the
movie’s named after—and as long as the result is even a fraction as great as
the franchise has been thus far, I will continue to drool over these films. I
hope they never leave him alone.

I'm Not Sure What This 'It Comes At Night' Trailer Is All About, But It's Awesome
The first trailer for Trey Edward Shults’ (Krishna)
upcoming horror mystery, It Comes at Night, arrived this
morning. And while I still don’t have much of an idea what the movie is about,
this quick look, and a new poster, is more than enough to pique my interest.
Check it out below.

'A Cure For Wellness' (2017) Movie Review
Gore Verbinski’s gothic creeper A Cure for
Wellness takes its sweet time getting anywhere. But hot damn, when it
does, it goes full-on, bugnuts, Wicker Man crazy. In fact,
Robin Hardy’s 1973 horror mystery is a good point of comparison for A Cure for Wellness on many fronts—story wise, tonally, and the willingness
to straight-up go bananas when the time comes.

'The Blackcoat's Daughter' Trailer Makes Me Wish I Liked The Movie More
I still can’t believe this movie hasn’t come out yet. Last
May, I saw thriller The Blackcoat’s Daughter at the Seattle International Film Festival. Before that, it made the other festival stops, including a premiere
at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, where it debuted as
February. It feels like it’s been on the way forever, but it’s
finally set to come out and A24 released a fantastic new trailer.

'The Raid' Star Iko Uwais Sure Remembers How To Fight Everyone In This 'Headshot' Trailer
The precise moment when I think I can’t get any more excited
for the Mo Brothers’ Iko Uwais-starring actioner, Headshot,
they have to go and drop yet another insane, ass-kicking, bone-snapping,
face-punching trailer. Thanks, fellas.
Oh Happy Day: Denis Villeneuve Will Officially Direct 'Dune'
If they have to adapt Dune again—and let’s
be frank, we all knew the ubiquitous ‘they’ were going to try—this is the best
possible scenario. The rumor made the rounds back in December, but now it’s
official: Sicario and Arrival director
Denis Villeneuve will helm Dune.
