We heard it was coming this month, and they waited until the
last minute, but dammit, we still got the full trailer for Boyka: Undisputed, the fourth in the Scott Adkins-starring, ass-kicking
franchise, and it is good. Check it out after the jump.

Movie Review: 'The Finest Hours'
When The Finest Hours, a movie about the
true life heroism of a rag tag group of Coast Guard members battling a fierce New
England storm in the early 1950s to save the stranded crew of a wrecked tanker,
is actually about that, it’s not bad. Giant waves flinging various vessels
around willy-nilly, a crew racing to the rescue, another struggling to stay
afloat long enough for them to arrive; all of this works. The problem is
whenever the movie does anything else.

'The Raid' Director Made A Badass Short Film, You Need To Watch It Right Now
You’re going to want to stop whatever your doing, because
whatever you’re currently involved in, with very few exceptions, is not as
awesome as a new short film from Gareth Evans. The director of TheRaid and The Raid 2 dropped a badass five-minute
video, and if that’s enough to get you to check it out, what are you even doing
here?

Movie Review: 'The 5th Wave'
The latest entry into the based-on-a-popular-young-adult-novel,
teenage-girl-saves-the-world cinema sweepstakes, The 5th
Wave, is a mixed bag. It’s roughly a third of total meh, a
third stuff I legit liked, and a third the funniest shit I’ve ever seen. Not in
an intentional way.
Key & Peele Are Back With The 'Keanu' Red Band Trailer, It's The Funniest Thing You'll Watch Today
As a show, Key & Peele may be gone,
but we certainly haven’t seen the last of masterminds Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan
Peele. Next up on their increasingly busy schedule is the kitten-centric comedy
Keanu. The first trailer is here, and holy shit, this looks
hilarious.

Blu-Ray/DVD Review: Criterion's 'The Complete Lady Snowblood'
Odds are that if you’re familiar with Lady
Snowblood, it’s in reference to Quentin Tarantino’s Kill
Bill: Vol. 1. Toshiya Fujita’s 1973 Japanese revenge flick is a huge
influence, stylistically and content wise—Tarantino borrows characters, plot
points, visual cues, and even the overall structure. If you haven’t watched
Lady Snowblood, or the sequel, 1974’s Lady
Snowblood 2: Song of Vengeance, now is the perfect time to climb on
that train, as Criterion just released a fantastic collection.
The New 'Suicide Squad' Trailer Is Day-Glo And Hilarious
Our first look at DC’s supervillain team up SuicideSquad was something of an accident. The footage shown at San Diego
Comic Con leaked out online and eventually DC and Warner Bros. simply released
an HD version out of frustration because people kept watching the janky video.
Last night, however, we got our first sanctioned look. Check it out below.

The Punisher Is Getting His Own Netflix Series
Comic book fans everywhere are getting psyched that we’ll
see Frank Castle, better known as the Punisher, in Netflix’s upcoming
Daredevil Season 2. I’ve been waiting for decades for
someone to get the character right (Punisher: War Zone is as
close as anyone has come), and with the dark, gritty episodic nature of
Daredevil, there’s hope this could be the one. But now
there’s more, as Netflix and Marvel are reportedly working on a new, solo
Punisher series.

First Trailer For Bad Robot's Mysterious '10 Cloverfield Lane,' Plus Poster And Release Date
Well, the Bad Robot mystery box is back at it again. There’s
been talk of a secretive Cloverfield tie-in coming for some
time, but we just got a new trailer, poster, and imminent release date for the
project, apparently called 10 Cloverfield Lane (it was
earlier known by the title Valencia). Who knows how this
connects to the found footage monster movie, or if that’s just a tease, but
this first look is something I’m totally into.

'Green Room' Room Gets A Tense, Grim Trailer, Needs To Happen Right Now
After Blue Ruin, I’m game for anything
writer/director Jeremy Saulnier does, and his next offering, Green
Room, looks right up my alley. An exploitation style throwback to the
tense, economic standoff movies of early John Carpenter and his ilk,
Green Room is finally getting ready to open, and there’s a
grim new trailer that makes me want this to happen right now.
The 2016 Oscar Nominations Are In, Make Of Them What You Will
At this point it’s cliché to say I don’t care about the
Oscars. I obviously pay attention in an academic way—it’s my job, after all—and
for spectacle’s sake, but that’s about as far as my interest really goes. The
nominations for this year came out and they play out as you expect.

Movie Review: 'Ride Along 2'
If you watched Ride Along, 2014’s buddy
cop comedy starring the unlikely duo of Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, and your first
thought was, “I can’t wait for the sequel,” you’re in luck, because
Ride Along 2 is here. While the first film was modestly entertaining,
if entirely expected, the follow up is listless retread with a few new wrinkles,
like Ken Jeong and Olivia Munn, thrown in to little effect.

The Final 'The Witch' Trailer Is The Creepiest Thing You'll See All Day
It’s been almost a full year since Robert Egger’s
directorial debut, the olde-timey horror The Witch debuted
at Sundance, and I’ve been dying to see it ever since. It’s almost here—it’ll
even drop a week earlier than it was originally scheduled—and to tease us even
more A24 just delivered a chilling new trailer.

Movie Review: 'The Forest'
Aokigahara Forest, also known as the Sea of Trees or the
Suicide Forest, located at the base of Mount Fuji, has become a fascination for
many. The dense woods are the most popular place in Japan for people to take
their own lives, and reportedly one of the three most popular suicide
destinations worldwide. Between that fact, the stunning natural geography that
features unexplored ice caverns, and a historical link with demons and spirits
in Japanese mythology, Aokigahara was ripe for a supernatural horror film.
Director Jason Zada’s The Forest is that movie, and it
squanders an interesting set up with a wealth of potential on a flat, bland,
by-the-numbers genre outing.
'Daredevil' Season 2 Gets A Trailer And Release Date
It’s no secret that Daredevil is my
all-time favorite comic book, and after the travesty that was the Ben Affleck
fronted movie, Marvel and Netflix got it right with their dark, gritty series.
Season 2 is on the way, and now we have a new trailer and a concrete release
date.
Ben Wheatley's 'High-Rise' Gets A Chilling New Trailer
Any time you attach the name Ben Wheatley to a movie, you
have our undivided attention. The maniac behind genre twisters like
Sightseers, A Field in England, and
Kill List is back, which on its own is an exciting
prospect, but the fact that he adapted our favorite J.G. Ballard novel,
High-Rise, well that’s just peachy keen in our book. We
can’t think of anyone better to bring this book to life, and star Tom
Hiddleston just dropped a new trailer for us to enjoy.

Jet Li And Tony Jaa Will Pummel Vin Diesel In 'xXx 3'
If we’re being entirely honest, I have no idea why, in 2016
(in case you were curious, yes, I typed 2015 first), we’re talking about a
xXx sequel, but here we are. As much as I love questionable
action fare, the 2002 Vin Diesel-fronted, XTREME sports-centric flick is a
total turd. It’s even more of a Mountain Dew commercial than the new
Point Break (though it does still make me laugh that the
villains are a group called Anarchy 99, that shit is gold). But apparently Vin
Diesel wants this to happen, and when he puts him mind to it, things get done
(see Riddick). And while it’s hard to condone this, they’ve
added some legitimate badasses to the cast.
