Coming out of San Diego Comic-Con, one of the movies that
generated the most chatter was Deadpool, and while we had to
wait for it, we’ve now got not one, but two badass new trailers for Merc with
the Mouth’s new solo joint. And if the character’s less than stellar debut in
X-Men Origins: Wolverine filled you with doubt and fear,
those should be assuaged after you get your first look.
Following Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), a former soldier who
winds up with super healing powers after an attempt to cure the cancer ravaging
his body takes an unexpected turn, these trailers have all of the things that
make Deadpool Deadpool. There’s snappy
banter, swords, breaking the fourth wall, extreme violence, profanity, and all
that fun stuff, including a Green Lantern joke.
Not only do we get to see the big man in action, but we get
a look as supporting players like Copycat (Morena Baccarin), Angel Dust (Gina Carano), Weasel (TJ Miller), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand),
Ajax (Ed Skrein), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), and the new Colossus (Andre
Tricoeaux), who looks like a legit cartoon character come to life.
Deadpool looks like a pretty good time, and
it’s not too far off, as the Tim Miller-directed, very R-rated superhero
adventure hits theaters on February 12, 2016. Just in time for Valentine’s Day,
how romantic. Check out the trailers below. First up is the green band trailer…
…followed by the red band version, which is similar, but
includes additional footage, more sex, some blood, a butt, and a few extra
swears for good measure.
