This 'Ash Vs. Evil Dead' Trailer Is Absolutely Perfect

Knowing that Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi were both coming back, you can bet we were already excited for Ash vs. Evil Dead, the upcoming series revival on Starz. But holy hell, you have no idea how incredibly stoked we are after watching this first trailer that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con. Holy shit. There are no words, just watch it for yourself after the jump.

The story picks up with Ash, living in a trailer, still working stock boy jobs, but he somehow fucked up and conjured up some more evil. Or maybe it just happened, it doesn’t really matter how, because the important part is that wisecracking man with the most recognizable chin in the industry is back and kicking Deadite ass.

Here's an official synopsis:

Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons — personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its 'Evil' grip.

There is so much blood in this trailer, you get your first introduction to the supporting players, like Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Jill Marie Jones, and Lucy Lawless kicking the living shit out of evil. But above everything else, tonally this is absolutely perfect. This hits it just right and feels like Evil Dead and all of the things we love about the franchise. I can’t even talk about my favorite moments, there are simply too many.

Watching this just makes my heart jackhammer in my chest. Ash vs. Evil Dead debuts on Starz this Halloween. Now I just need to figure out how to get Starz.
