This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. We’ve heard
that Terminator Genisys rewrites the franchise timeline, and
that one scene features Arnold Schwarzenegger’s older, grizzled T-800 throwing
down with his original 1984 self. There have been glimpses, and we don’t get to
see much in this new clip, but we get the beginning, and that’s enough to pique
my interest. Check it out after the jump.
I’m still not entirely clear how I feel about
Genisys. On one hand, the last two
Terminator movies are terrible, and this one has looked
problematic, what with the wholesale revision to the timeline, essentially
erasing the good movies. Then again, the closer we get, the more we learn, the
more intriguing this sound and I have to admit, despite my early reservations,
I’m getting pretty optimistic about this one.
This clip revisits the scene from James Cameron’s 1984
Terminator where Schwarzenegger shows up, buck ass nude, and
murder’s three punks, including a young Bill Paxton, for their clothes. This
time, however, there’s someone waiting for him. I am worried that this epic
tussle will be a super shitty CGI mess, but I’m trying to stay positive. It’s
hard. And there’s no Bill Paxton, which is a bummer.
Terminator Genisys also stars Emilia
Clarke, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Jai Courtney, Lee Byung-hun, and more, and
opens everywhere July 1. Check out the Arnold on Arnold violence below.
