Horror favorite Eli Roth’s The Green
Inferno has had a bumpy ride on the way to the theaters later this
year. Sure, it was only delayed a year—some movies never get a release—but for
fans waiting for his take on the white-do-gooders-devoured-by-jungle-cannibals
genre have been salivating over this one for a while. You still have a couple
more months to wait, but this new trailer should whet your whistle.
The Green Inferno follows a group of New
York-based student activists who travel to the Amazon to try to stop the
destruction of the rainforest and save an endangered tribe. When their plane
crashes in the jungle, however, they find themselves imprisoned by, and on the menu
for, the very same tribe they planned to “save.”
This is going to be a brutal, nasty piece of work, aping the
likes of ‘70s exploitation flicks like Cannibal Holocaust,
Cannibal Ferox, and really any movie with the word “cannibal”
prominently displayed in the title.
After a detour, The Green Inferno chows
down on theaters on September 25. Check out the trailer, which contains some
