'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Movie Review

This has been said elsewhere, but the impressive thing about Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is how writer/director Joss Whedon takes a story that is absolutely packed with superheroes and stories and action, and never lets it get weighed down. This could have easily devolved into a rambling, incoherent, 141-minute long mess, but Whedon is able give each of these notable characters their moment to shine and imbue them with legitimate emotional weight. It’s a delicate juggling act in the midst of nearly nonstop action, and is a huge reason why Age of Ultron is another in a long line of massive, exciting, fun movies from the comic book studio.

'Legend' Trailer: Tom Hardy Doubles Down As Real Life Gangster Twins

Tom Hardy has played a Batman villain, a notorious inmate, and gangsters of all stripes, not to mention Mad fuckin’ Max. In Brian Hegeland’s upcoming Legend, he doubles down, playing the real life crime boss twins Reggie and Ronnie Kray. Check out this dual role in this new Legend trailer after the jump.

The Kray Twins were a pair of identical brothers who ran organized crime in the East End of London during the 1950s and ‘60s at the head of their gang The Firm. Not only were they vicious gangsters, but in addition to armed robbery, racketeering, murder, and the usual gangster shit, they also hobnobbed with celebrities in the nightclubs they owned, rubbing elbows with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, and various politicians.

In all likelihood, Ronnie was an undiagnosed paranoid schizophrenic, and Legend purports to show them try to maintain a grip on their empire as pressure squeezes them from all sides. They face power struggles, general madness, and, of course, a woman comes between them, all of which led to their ultimate downfall. I can’t wait to see Tom Hardy in this double role. What can I say, the dude looks awesome in a ‘60s style suit with a sharp period hairdo.

Legend also stars Emily Browning, Christopher Eccleston, David Thewlis, Chazz Palminteri, and Taron Egerton, and hits theaters in the U.K. on September 11. There’s currently no word on a U.S. release, but Universal is handling the release, so hopefully we’ll hear something soon.

'Dude Bro Party Massacre 3' Drops A "Family Friendly" Trailer

You know whether or not you want to watch a movie called Dude Bro Party Massacre 3, and odds are, if you’re reading this, you think it’s going to be a damn good time. We’ve seen a number of trailers and posters already, but now we’ve got a “family friendly” version, though, admittedly, your family probably needs to have a degree of appreciation for blood spatter.

Final 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Trailer Reduces The World To A Single Instinct

My reaction to Mad Max: Fury Road is gut level and primal. I can’t see a TV spot, photo of a car, or poster without giggling like a mindless chimp. That, of course, extends to this new and purportedly “final” trailer for George Miller’s upcoming return to the post-apocalyptic wastes. Check it out after the jump.

Sono Sion's 'Tag' Trailer Goes Bananas On Schoolgirls

Sono Sion is a madman, and a prolific one to boot. The Japanese auteur of crazy has no less than six movies set to drop this year, one of which is Tag, which, as you can see in this bananas new trailer, is not particularly nice to Japanese school girls.

This 'Dude Bro Party Massacre 3' Poster Loses Its Head

If you’re familiar with this site, you’ve probably heard us talk about Dude Bro Party Massacre 3, the upcoming send up of ‘80s slasher joint. We’re pretty stoked for it around these parts, and this new poster is a sight to behold and perfectly captures the apparent spirit of the film. Check it out after the jump.

This Trailer For Takashi Miike's Vampire Gangster Joint 'Yakuza Apocalypse' Is Insane

When you think of the Cannes Film Festival, you generally think of the prestigious international pictures we’ll be talking about over the next year. That’s a bit different this time around as George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road will premiere at the 2015 fest. But the strangest, most hair-singeing film promises to be Takashi Miike’s Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War of the Underworld, and this new trailer shows off a movie that’s even more bizarre than the title indicates.

Doom Is Coming In This 'Fantastic Four' Trailer

Cards on the table, I’ve never been a huge Fantastic Four fan, either in comic book or movie form (okay, the low-budget Roger Corman version is certainly a sight to behold), so I’ve been solidly on the fence about Josh Trank’s upcoming version. Still not entirely sold, this new trailer that just dropped is the best thing we’ve seen from the film thus far.

These Two 'Jurassic World' Posters Remind Us How Tiny We Are

Even if that first Jurassic World clip left you meh (or pissed you off like Joss Whedon), it’s still one of our most anticipated of the summer, primarily because no matter what else, there are going to be big ass monster dinosaurs chowing down on sunburned tourists. That sounds like a fun time from where we sit. To remind you just how terrifying they’re going to be, the movie released two new posters that drive the point home.

'Dope' Trailer: '90s Hip Hop Obsessed Punk Rock Nerds In The Hood

Every year, a few films come out of Sundance with a lot of hype behind them, and this year Rick Famuyiwa’s Dope is one that caused a ruckus in Park City. The story of ‘90s hip hop obsessed nerds who play in a punk band trying to make it through daily life in the hood looks hilarious and heartfelt and like a total blast. Check out the new trailer below.

'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' Trailer Shows The Man Of Steel Take A Heel Turn

This wasn’t supposed to drop until Monday, but in the wake of a shitty cell phone video version that hit the other day, Warner Bros. decided to officially release an HD version of the first teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Check it out below, it’s a damn good time.

The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer Is Here And Incredible

I’m just going to go ahead and leave this new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer right here. Right now I don’t feel like writing about it (I’ve already done that here and here today if you’re interested in my thoughts), and there’s nothing I can say that will replicate watching it five or ten times. So go ahead and do that, it’ll be better than whatever you’re doing right now, I promise.

'Unfriended' Movie Review: A Unique Horror Film That Is Almost Good

Everything eventually gets its own movie. There are films about every niche subculture you can name, every type of fandom has been documented and dramatized, and every technological advancement inspires a slew of stories to go along with it. Unfriended, the new horror movie from low-budget genre masters Blumhouse Productions, tells it’s tale entirely via social media, hitting all the touchstones, like Facebook, Instagram, Skype, Snapchat, and more. While that sounds terrible, like a what-the-hell-are-they-thinking kind of concept, they actually almost pull it off. Unfriended is almost a good movie, which in itself is a feat.

This 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Trailer Gives You A History Lesson

It’s been 30 years since the last Mad Max movie, and if you somehow forgot that, or it’s just been a while since you’ve revisited the original trilogy, director George Miller and company are back with another trailer for the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road that pays homage to what came before. But don’t fret, it’s still batshit crazy and full of a grip of cool new footage.

Make Sure To Vote For 'Dude Bro Party Massacre 3' For All Of The End-Of-Year Awards

The incredibly titled Dude Bro Party Massacre3 is already the early frontrunner for my favorite movie of 2015, but what about things like prestigious end-of-the-year awards? It’s never too early to start campaigning, and in that spirit, the folks as 5-Second Films have released this “For Your Consideration” video for their upcoming horror feature.

'Terminator: Genisys' Trailer Shows Off Major Renovations To The Franchise

Since word one, we’ve heard that Terminator: Genisys will tinker with the franchise timeline. We’ve seen bits and pieces of this in the various TV spots and trailers, but this latest gives you your best taste of exactly how big these changes are going to be.

This 'Ant-Man' Trailer Is Funny As Hell And Full Of New Footage

There's been so much focus on Avengers: Age of Ultron lately, and rightfully so, but it's overshadowed the other Marvel movie coming this summer, the Paul Rudd-starring Ant-Man. The promo push for that has finally started in earnest, however, kicking off with this new trailer.

Old School Slasher 'Bastard' Delivers A Creepy Trailer

Chainsaws, creepy manors, hitchhiking serial killers. That sounds like the makings of a pretty good time to us, and that’s exactly what the new horror joint Bastard is made of. The creepy, low-budget slasher throwback is looking for distribution, but hopefully someone out there will check out this new trailer and pick it up.

'Mad Max: Fury Road' TV Spots Are Full Of New Footage And Mayhem

Mad Max: Fury Road is just over a month away, and every time I think I can’t be more pumped for this, they go and do something crazy like drop these two new international TV spots and a bunch of new posters, and it’s like it’s all the first time I’m hearing about this all over again. So check out all of that and try to contain your drool.

'Dude Bro Party Massacre 3' Red Band Trailer Shows Why It May Be The Craziest Movie Of 2015

The other day, a strange thing hit the internet, the trailer for a movie called Dude Bro Party Massacre 3. It’s a bizarre, campy send up of low-to-no-budget slashers, and has some weirdly well-known faces in small roles, like Patton Oswalt, Andrew W.K., John Frances Daley, and Larry King. Yes, Larry King. Now, just a few days later, these lunatics are back with a brand new red band trailer for you to check out.

'Burying The Ex' Trailer: Anton Yelchin Gets Cock Blocked By His Zombie Girlfriend

Joe Dante, zombies, a bizarre, twisted horror premise? We’re sold right there. It’s been six years since the mind behind Gremlins and Small Soldiers has directed a motion picture (though he’s helmed a number of Hawaii Five-O episodes, oddly enough), and he’s back with Burying the Ex, a horror rom-com, which dropped a new trailer today.

Two 'Daredevil' Trailers Showcase A Dark, Gritty Superhero Adventure

Since the beginning, I’ve been as skeptical as anyone about Marvel and Netflix teaming up for Daredevil. I’m still gun-shy from the last attempt to adapt my all-time favorite comic, and the earliest looks didn’t exactly inspire confidence (I’m not as concerned about the suit as most people, though I’m not not concerned). But as we draw closer to the April 10 release date, the early reviews have been strong (especially from sources whose opinions I trust), and the recent promotion, including two new trailers, has got me stoked for this, at least cautiously so.

'The Look Of Silence' Trailer Is Chilling And Stunning

It’s hard to talk about Joshua Oppenheimer’s last documentary, The Act of Killing. I don’t know that I’ve ever watched another movie with such slack jawed awe. Cameras follow former Indonesian death squad soldiers responsible for the slaughter of thousands of people as they reenact their crimes. It’s a surreal and haunting experience, scarring and powerful, and now it has a companion piece in Oppenheimer’s follow up The Look of Silence. The film made the rounds at the fall festivals last year, and now it has a trailer for you to check out if you missed it.

Hawkeye Brings A Bow And Arrow To A Robot Fight In This 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' TV Spot

There is so much Avengers: Age of Ultron promo floating around that it’s damn near useless to try to keep up with it all. That said, this new TV spot is a pretty damn good time. It’s not as epic or quite as ominous as some of the trailers, but it is funnier than most.

'Furious 7' Movie Review: Over The Top And Entertaining As Hell

Watching Furious 7, the latest installment of the adrenaline-fueled Fast & Furious franchise, you get the distinct impression that, when faced with a creative choice, the filmmakers paused to ask themselves, “What’s the most insane, over the top thing we can do here?” And then they went ahead and did that. For a series of films that, especially over the last few chapters, has been a continual escalation in physics-defying stunts, Furious 7 takes it to an entirely new level, and the result is a damn lot of fun.

'Maniac Cop' Star Robert Z'Dar Passes Away At 64

Cult actor Robert Z’Dar passed away Monday night in Pensacola, Florida due to a heart attack. He was 64.

Many of you may not instantly recognize his name, but if you’re a fan of badass low-buget action, horror, sci-fi, and exploitation movies in the ‘80s and ‘90s, odds are you’ll recognize his legendary jaw. From his 1985 debut in Hellhole, he went on to appear (star might be a bit of a stretch in most cases) in 121 film and TV titles, including epics like Soultaker, Samurai Cop, Maniac Cop, and one of my all time favorite movies, Tango &Cash.
