You may or may not know this, but I’m a pretty big fan of
Pitch Perfect. It made my top ten list for 2012, and once it
hit video I’ve watched it dozens and dozens of times. (I may have a problem.)
Who knew a bearded movie enthusiast who is pushing 40 would be so taken by collegiate
a cappella. So yes, I’m rather excited for Pitch Perfect 2,
and when I see things like this latest trailer, it only make me wish I could
see it tomorrow.
Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and the rest, as well as some
newcomers, like Hailee Steinfeld, are back, and this time the Barden Bellas are
going international. Due to a strange set of circumstances that you get a
glimpse of here—including Fat Amy flashing the President of the United
States—they have to win the world championships, which no Americans have ever
done. This is like the a ca-lympics and the movie looks to combine a triumphant
underdog sports-movie story with the pop music mashups you’ve come to expect. I
can’t wait.
Pitch Perfect 2 opens everywhere May 15.
