We’ll have to wait until May 15 to see if it lives up to it,
but if we’re judging George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road by
the trailers, this is going to be the best movie ever made. It’s got
post-apocalyptic battlewagons, crazy-ass warlords of the wasteland, insane
stunts, explosions, cars jumping out of fire, classical music, Tom Hardy, and a
badass one-armed Charlize Theron. I can’t imagine wanting anything more out of
a single motion picture, and this new Japanese trailer delivers all of that in
just over a minute.
This is 67-seconds worth of chaos and mayhem, and I couldn’t
be more excited unless I was finally seeing this tonight. Sadly, that’s not the
case, but as long as we’ve waited (this has been in the works since at least
2010, and principal photography wrapped in late 2012, though there were
extensive reshoots), I can hold out a few more months. Though I do expect some
vengeful deity to wipe every copy from existence before I get to see it, that’s
just how troubled this production has been.
Check out the new trailer below. It’s similar to what we’ve
already seen, but that doesn’t make any less phenomenal.
