As you probably guessed, I spend a fair amount of time
watching movies. Shocking, I know. For some reason I got the bright idea to catalog
every movie I watched in 2013, and because I know you’re just dying to learn
more about my viewing habits, here they are, in chronological order. Bookending
the year with Miami Connection and Ninja 2: Shadow ofa Tear is a fitting choice, and speaks volumes about my cinematic
proclivities.
There are some caveats. We’re just talking about movies, and
we’re just talking movies I saw for the first time in 2013. If I counted movies
I’ve already seen, or ones that I watched multiple times, the number would
easily top 300. Hell, including Pitch Perfect alone would
put me into the 210 range. There was a period where I watched it once a day for
ten straight days—I’m well aware that I have a problem. I didn’t review every
movie I saw, though I did hit a personal best in that arena, too, with
somewhere in the area of 130. I’m too lazy to count. That’s in addition to
writing more than 1000 news articles, most at Giant Freakin’ Robot, or the two
or three times that number that I edited.
Like I said, this list only includes films. I didn’t feel
like taking into account the 20 plus shows I keep up with on a regular basis,
the Blu-ray box sets I marathon on the regular, or even the random sitcoms I
have on in the background while I’m doing something else. At my day job I’ve
watched 436 titles since I started in May, though by the end of today that will
likely be 440 or more. The bulk of these are TV shows (unfortunately including
28 episodes of Frasier), but there are a decent number of
movies in there as well, including some that are on this list.
I don’t know why you would be interested in this, I’m barely
interested in this, but what the hell, I’m doing it anyway. Here you go, the
