Whatever he wants to do, I will watch Iko Uwais do it.
Fortunately for me, at least as far as movies go, that usually involves him
kicking the crap out of people. And I support that. The latest cinematic endeavor
for The Raid star, the hyper-violent revenge yarn
Headshot, helmed by the Mo Brothers (Macabre,
Killers), makes its premiere at the Toronto International
Film Festival next week, and in advance of that, there’s a badass new poster to
gawk at.
The fine folks at Screen Anarchy got the reveal, which only
makes sense as founder Todd Brown is part of producer/distributor XYZ Films.
If you haven’t been paying attentions,
Headshot is the story of an amnesiac killing machine (Iko Uwais) whose shadowy past comes back with a vengeance as he takes on a vicious
drug lord. Yes, yes that does sound like a damn near perfect time at the
movies.
Headshot also stars Very Tri Yulisman and
Julie Estelle, better known as Baseball Bat Man and Hammer Girl from
The Raid 2, Sunny Pang, and Chelsea Islan.
This fits in perfectly with the TIFF Midnight Madness
catalog, and as usual, I’m super jealous of everyone in attendance because they
get to see Headshot before I do. There’s no word on when the
rest of us will get to lay eyes on this, but hopefully it won’t be too much
longer. I need this to show up and pummel me around the head and neck.
